No one will probably read this, but here it goes.
I started this blog with such enthusiasm (sorry if you EVER used that word in a post) but recently, I have been quite disheartened. Not because I don't get the traffic or comments, I could care less; but because it seems like everyone has become SO protective of "their blog" or "their photos" or "their ideas". Well, I don't get it. Don't we come here to inspire one another? Even if you try to copy or use the same stamp I do, it will never look exactly the same. Art is art, no matter the source. I am flattered that anyone would think enough of my work to think it worthy to repeat or expand upon!
So, we should all have different bottles of polish and never swatch the same one twice. We should not ever follow one another or ask a question of another blogger or artist? Maybe someone wants to use your expertise. Why is that bad? Why does that warrant a flurry of hateful speech or degrading comments? You know what? If you put it out there, SOMEONE IS GOING TO STEAL/BORROW/USE/LEARN FROM IT! Deal!
Get mad that you don't get to review all the polishes the big girls get to, or get mad that someone tries something that you RAVE about on your blog. If you don't want people using your ideas, don't put them in the post.
I am more than supportive of all my blog followers, but maybe that is because I am a teacher. That's right, I have a degree in education.....I have a degree in French Horn....I teach others my skill and when they use my suggestions to better themselves, I am the hero, so to speak. I have done my job. I give my talents and my time and my money freely, and I only wish others could understand that feeling of helping someone else.
I know I haven't blogged as much as I should - maybe I let some of you down, but I can only do as much as this crazy life allows me to do. I work 2 jobs, have a husband and a 9 year old boy....
Sorry I painted the same color ~ I probably really liked YOUR post and had to buy it.
Sorry I used the same stamp ~ I probably really liked YOUR post and had to try it.
Sorry I tried sponging ~ I probably really liked the way YOURS looked and wanted it.
Sorry I baked a cookie ~ I probably always likes MY MOM'S and wanted to try it, too, just fancier.
Sorry I ever followed ~ maybe YOUR friend and I had something in common, too.
Sorry I ever swapped ~ I like to meet YOUR friends and trade items around the world.
I don't know why there is so much hatred here right now, such posessiveness. Aren't we all supposed to help each other; inspire each other; meet and learn about each other? I am so disappointed.
My heart is heavy tonight, and though no one will read this, I have gotten it off my chest and I can sleep (maybe) tonight.
Peace.
