Better Late Than Never

Here's what I wore for St. Patrick's Day. I also had a skinny scarf I made to look like the flag of Ireland and a short jacket in green corduroy..

Here is a quick look at my St. Paddy's Day mani - see, I told you I was waaaaay behind!

This is what I used. I have fallen in LOVE with the Kleancolor "Fireworks"....this is almost as drool-inducing as "Happy Birthday" by Lippman..

Zoya Midori, Art/Deco in Gold Glitter for the skinny French and ring finger using Foreworks.

I Need your help....

I am on my way to....well, Bermuda, on Thursday, and I have NO idea what to do with my nails. I don't know how to pack polishes, what I should take, etc. I have a small bottle of Remove+ (THE BEST) and beyond that, I don't know.....

Here's what I have on right now. Claires Chunky Blue in my first attempt at gradient mani...I love how it turned out - maybe not as perfect as I thought, but I am sooooo happy with this cheap polish!
This is a close-up of the big clear bling I used.

This is the mani in full sun! I added a Fauxnad Mermaid using Konad White. I did this yesterday, so I'm sure tomorrow will bring the vacay mani - we leave at 7:30am from Pittsburgh, which is a 2 hour drive from here....We have to be there at 5:30am due to it being an International flight, so it's going to be an EARLY morning...leaving at 3:00am.....UGH!!!!

I haven't been on much lately, and I have noticed that I haven't posted for 10 days. I don't like that....but I do have some cop-out, I mean reasons.
1. Roo boy was sick!!
2. He shared it with me ~ thanks.
3. I have been ordering Senior Portraits like crazy!
4. Everybody I know is having a baby and I have been able to photograph the little jewels.

I am going to post on vacation as much as possible and I am going to pick up a few goodies for Spring giveaways!

KOTDs, and some gentle history.

This is my Lichtenstein/Warhol inspired konadi.....I love the dots. This pink is so very bright, I almost didn't put anything over it, I just kept staring and "petting" it, literally.... I loved the application and the color saturation was POW....

1. DC Super Base.
2. 2 coats Color Club Warhol.
3. 1 coat DC Super dry before stamping.
4. Plate m60 stamped with Color Club Worth the Risque.
5. Little yellow daisy/sun from C01.
6. Seche Vite.

This konadi was from yesterday. A little history of Philippi, WV (where I live) ....This place floods. OK, history lesson over. LOL - So with all this snow melting and now with rain being forecasted for the next several days, we are in for some soggy messes....So much that they had an early dismissal for our schools yesterday. When I got the "robo-call" from the county, I immediately got an idea to do a water/blue nail thing.....funny thing, though, just as I stamped that subtle water thingy, the glorious sun (I MEAN BEEEEERIGHT) sun came through the sky light in my bathroom and was nearly blinding. That's when I decided to add those little sun-like flowers....

1. DC Super Base.
2. 2 Coats Suzi Says Feng Shui (OMGsh, this blue is awesome)
3. OPI Absolutely Alice for skinny French tips.
4. DC Super dry before stamping.
5. fauxnad plate GCOCL D02 stamped with Konad Blue Pearl and Yellow/White mixed.
6. Seche Vite.

I have also been using Orly Flash Dry lately. I only have it because it came free with something I ordered, somewhere....I have so much stuff, I can't remember.....

P.S. - I love the tags I have gotten lately, I promise, I am going to do the "things I love"....lists - I swear! My time has been a little short - senior picture ordering and editing season is really here. My business is booming, and my orders are taking up my time....I'll get around to it...Ladies, I appreciate EVERY ONE of them and love getting tagged.

5.

Laura, what can I say.....OK, this is my photo and there is a little story that goes along with this.....Laura contacted me a couple of weeks ago and offered to send me a set of these polishes....yes, that's right - out of the blue, this amazing gal and blogger, offered these to me. I love them, and the package was just darling. She is oh-so-sweet! (I have swatched them, but just haven't posted, yet....). I visited another blog recently (international) of a lady who can't get Zoya in her country.....Laura offered to buy them and send them to her ~ which is just what she did!!! .....see, I told you she is "da bomb". We are so lucky to have such a generous person among our "ranks". Thanks, Laura.

Anyway - she is now giving THREE sets of these to THREE lucky ladies, and the first pick also gets a bottle of Seche Vite Top Coat! I am not going to enter this, as her kindness has allowed me the privilege to own these.

Open until March 28th!

Go enter these "fab five follower" giveaways and, if you haven't already, join my "NYX Eyes, Lips and Nails" Giveaway. (got this little promote-myself idea from Laura - she never quits!)

It's that time again, dolls! I have for you a collection of "NYX ~Eyes, Lips and Nails" to be given to someone - but you have to enter!!!!

Remember I said this was for reaching 150!!! Well, thanks to you lovelies, I am over 230! I have another giveaway already planned....so thanks for making every day colorful, your wonderful comments and for giving me the chance to "meet" all of you! I am having a blast, hope you are, too! :B

All the following are brand new and purchased by me either through the NYX "Blowout" sale in January or at Cherry Culture! This brand is fast becoming one of my favorites - What I've tried, I love.....prices are great and selection is, too. Everything applies so smoothly and the colors are cutting edge and fresh, with tons of classic looks as well....HERE GOES!

This giveaway consists of:

1. NYX Eyeshadow Trio - Velvet Blue/Ocean Frost/Space............it says "Triple Shadows for Sexy Babe's Eyes Only!" - Oh, so true!!!
2. NYX Eye Pencil in Sapphire.
3. NYX Single Eyeshadow in Red Bronze.
4. NYX Diamond Sparkle Lipgloss in Ginger Sparkle.
5. NYX Girls Nail Polish in Purple Rain
6. NYX Nails in Christine. *

*(there is a little disclaimer on #6 - I looked in the bottle ~ which of course I purchased because the name "Christine", from Phantom of the Opera ~ has some sort of sediment in it. Maybe the little ballz rusted, I don't know....however, someone may use it to franken or you could just tell me you don't want it.....either way, it's OK.....sorry about that. I don't think it will hurt the color.)

This one is going to be easy. Just leave me a comment - "I'm a follower", or "Sweet giveaway" or "Your blog is terrible" LOL ~ whatever you want and your email addy - that's it. I feel the need to keep it simple! (oops, I forgot, you must be a follower, or give me a REALLY good reason why you're not .....LOL!!! - if you don't have a blog, but follow on Google friends, or some other thing, that's OK, too; just let me know!)

Ends Monday March 15, in whatever time zone you are in....I'm an "Easterner".

Feel free to tweet, re-tweet, and post to giveaway announcements.

Thanks for reading and GOOD LUCK!!!!

Cheeky Monkey ~ II

Here is round 2 ! Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics has got to be the biggest "buzz" right now on the blog-block....I am so glad I had the chance to give a little to this cause! And Andrea, how smart are you to send different polishes to different bloggers!
It's nice to see everyone swatching a different color and to see how the reactions play out.

I wanted to show you this fabbo packaging. Usually when I get polish, (or anything else in the mail) it comes in a boring brown box, inside a brown box, usually surrounded by those damn, stick to everything, go everywhere peanuts. I HATE THEM!!!! LOL! But this, however, came out of the box looking like a big-ol' party, birthday present. I think this is how we should all treat our customers. It almost reminds me of a Barbie I saw recently wearing a B&W polka dot dress with a hot pink belt! And that's what makes this so funny , and great at the same time. From the outside we look just like that put-together Barbie in the perfect plastic box, but open us up and there might be a deep, dark (heaven forbid) FUNNY secret hiding inside....... *Dr. Evil laugh*

Andrea wrote me a nice note inside the bag that mentioned how we need to not take ourselves so seriously - we have so much crap heaped on us (my words, not hers LOL) as mothers, wives, students, daughters, workers, etc....that we need to remember that FUN and FUNNY part of being ourselves! Great lesson from a great polish!!! WHO KNEW!

Every one of the polishes came with a little black card with a great saying - meant to be funny, but at the same time, so true! Have a gander at the picture to get the gist....

Here are my last 2 swatches:

"Pop My Cherry"

OMG...."Pop My Cherry" has got to be the hottest red-jelly on the market! It applied like a dream, seen as 3 coats. Yeah, there is a little VNL, but who cares, this color is so deep and bright. I caught myself just staring at it
...........uhhhhh........mmmmm.

I never thought i could wear reds, ever, because I am so fair-skinned......I am glad I was wrong! Here's another view - full sun, BABY!

Last, but not least :

"Social Climber"

OK, again, I thought I could NEVER wear brown.......you know. This brown is a kick a$$ creme - and this is ONE coat. Yes, one.
It's like I crashed a wedding and dipped my fingers in the (stupid) chocolate fountain.
The one thing I did learn is not to wear a funked-out psychedelic tie-dyed t-shirt when you are taking a picture of a creme polish that is so shiny! (look closely - you can see me on every nail!)
"What can brown do for me"??? Anything it wants, as long as it looks this good!

So on to the business.....Cheeky Monkey polishes are all Big 3 Free and are available for $15 on their website. These swatches were all made using CM Base Coat - "Make Me Wet" and topped with "I Like it on Top". These products were sent to me in return for an honest review.

Cheeky Monkey

I stumbled upon this line and company a few weeks ago - although I'm not sure which blogger it was..(if it's you, let me know and I'll give you due props)...

Facebook page:

"Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics is centered on the belief that all women should be free to express their personal edginess in a fun and empowering way. Our products act as a tool, providing an avenue and philosophy to engage, explore or rediscover the edginess that animates all of us."

I went to the website Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics and I knew I had found the right spot! I contacted the wonderful Andrea inquiring about reviewing a few polishes - well, she agreed, so here for your viewing pleasure, I have some freaking amazing colors from Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics!!!

"Sweet Ass"

So, the name is a bit different, as all of these polish names are! That's what makes them so punk, no wait, it's the color....and the formula....and the application....

This is a baby doll pink jelly. This is 3 coats, and you can see some VNL, but that has never been an issue with me. The color is perfect for Spring....creamy, pretty, and jelly all in one... I will definitely be wearing this one again!

"Romp"

All I can say is WOW about this color....again the formula and application on this was great. This is two coats of purple-y, blue-y bright almost metallic shimmer.

I couldn't believe how this looked in the sun! It's going to be a go-to color for me!

I want to go for a good "Romp" wearing this polish!

This is the first of two posts I have on this line - Stay tuned for more....Cheeky Monkey!
